Invision and Pulse Cinemas are presenting a new event to highlight the difference in performance between the recently launched Kaleidescape Strato V and streaming platforms.

Taking place on 28 November, the event is designed to showcase the difference in viewing and listening quality delivered by Kaleidescape's higher bitrate compared to streaming platforms. The technique of comparing the performance of streaming platforms to Kaleidescape has become a regular feature of demonstrations at Pulse Cinemas HQ, and now this initiative has been expanded into a full one-day event.


Strato V vs Streaming Platforms


 Pulse Cinemas and Invision state that most streaming services encode 4K video at around 8 megabits per second, whereas Kaleidescape’s 4K movies boast a significantly higher bitrate of 65 megabits per second. This approach delivers sharper images and enhanced colour accuracy. The goal is to allow as many installers and customers as possible to experience the difference in picture quality compared to services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV 4K, Disney+, and Sky.


Audio performance is also a key focus of the event, with demonstrations designed to reveal the difference in sound quality. The companies argue that Kaleidescape’s higher audio bitrate ensures playback captures every subtle detail—from the quietest whispers to the most immersive, full-on action sequences.
