Join
the Pulse Cinemas team and ARC Genesis experts from Anthem and begin a new
journey into better sound.
Next Thursday 25th July 2019, you can go to Pulse Cinemas HQ in Stansted to learn everything you need to know about the third generation of Anthem’s ARC Genesis room correction software.
Adding value on each project is a massive priority and Pulse Cinemas says it wants to help its installation partners do just that with Anthem Room Correction (ARC). With ARC Genesis, the AV distributor says you can deliver bags of added value; turning a good system into a great system.
In attendance on this special training day will be John Bagby, Anthem’s new MD, who also happens to be the product specialist for ARC Genesis – so attendees could not be in better hands to learn more about this software and its capabilities. Also present will be Marketing Director, Justin Bright and, of course, the rest of the Anthem training team.
The day itself will start at 10am and will consist of some history concerning Anthem and Paradigm brands, exploring the advantages of using these sister brands in conjunction with each other. This will then be followed by some impressive demonstrations of the brands in multi-channel and two-channel set ups.
The demonstrations will call on the talents of the powerful Persona 9H, Paradigm Elite and Pro series speakers, Anthem STR pre/power amplification and the Anthem AVM and MRX series of AVRs.
In addition, Pulse Cinemas will be using IsoTek power conditioning products, SIM2 and BenQ projection, RTI automation and control, Pulse-Eight matrix and control, and Kaleidescape for content delivery onto a Screen Research screen. Lutron will also be in full effect across the demos.
So, it’s not just a great chance to learn more about ARC Genesis, but also a chance to check out some other top performing equipment.
After some well-earned lunch, the ARC training will get underway. This is where attendees will learn how to exploit the powerful technologies contained in this latest version of ARC Genesis.
After the formal training is over, Pulse Cinemas welcomes installers to stay longer; providing the opportunity to engage in one on one discussions about the technology and how best to begin working it into current and prospective projects.
The event is open to all Pulse Cinemas dealers and, of course, is particularly relevant if Paradigm and Anthem are regular features in your projects.
Why ARC Genesis?
ARC adjusts the audio performance of the equipment to suit each room's unique characteristics. It 'tames' the resonances produced by reflective surfaces and other obstacles found in client’s homes, which have negative impacts on the sound radiating from the loudspeakers.
This can be especially true for low frequencies. Removing the impact of these obstacles allows the audio equipment to achieve a more natural sound and to perform as close to the lab standard as possible.
The ARC proprietary digital signal processing software works with a specially engineered calibration microphone and a PC or iOS device to quickly and easily optimise audio for each unique listening space.
Anthem engineers developed the ARC system while researching how to replicate the audio-lab standard of performance in non-lab environments. This research was conducted in conjunction with the National Research Council of Canada, the Canadian government’s research and technology organisation.
Anthem engineers discovered that real world listening experiences had little in common with the controlled environment of the audio lab. That’s because the same loudspeakers sound different in different rooms, as the sound is coloured by each room’s furnishings, size and shape.
ARC digitally compares a room’s acoustic signature to that of the lab standard. It measures the response of each speaker relative to the listening area. It then uses advanced algorithms to eliminate the negative effects of the obstacles in the room, adjusting response and correcting phase effects. When ARC removes the obstacles, what’s left is the lab standard performance.
ARC also detects how much the room reinforces low frequencies due to its boundaries and pressurisation. It automatically enforces optimal room gain, keeping bass response from sounding thin. ARC also senses where each speaker’s low-frequency response declines and sets high-pass filters accordingly, ensuring natural-sounding levels of deep, well-blended bass.
The training day will show installers just how to achieve all of this and make each project as good as it can be.
