Taking place here at Pulse Cinemas’ Stansted HQ on June 18-19, this two-day course will introduce and explore the formal skills required to design a dedicated home cinema and media room to its maximum capability.

Part of CEDIA’s dedicated AV, automation and home cinema curriculum, the course uses engineering calculations to enable installers to use world-recognised standards and recommended practices.

This expansive course also covers the engineering principles involved in high performance design, the science and calculations required to undertake and complete design exercises for both audio and video, and associated factors such as data, heat and lighting.

Day two of the course is where delegates can get hands on during an interactive workshop with attendees working in groups to design a cinema from a real client brief.

Topics Covered

Engineering principles of home cinema; Calculations for audio and video; Consideration of other factors (HVAC, lighting, seating, safety etc); Making intelligent decisions in difficult rooms; Creating standard quotation documents; Understanding client requirements and best practises and industry standards.

Who Should Attend?

There are no formal entry requirements to attend this course, however, CEDIA underlines that this is a challenging course, so prior knowledge of custom installation and home cinema is recommended. This course is part of the curriculum to become a CEDIA Certified Designer.

Attendance also provides an opportunity to spend time at Pulse Cinemas HQ and experience just how good our demonstration and training facilities are. So, join us and the CEDIA team and let’s get serious about cinema!

Agenda

Home cinema is a cornerstone technology of the residential installation market and is a common feature within the home technology industry. The technical design of a high performance home cinema is not just about a series of subjective decisions. For every parameter, there is a standard that should be achieved in order to offer a truly immersive and secure home entertainment experience.

Home Cinema Design Package

Exploring the principals involved in high-performance design, and the science and calculations required to create a complete design for both audio and video, attendees will understand the full scope of a high performance cinema design.

Topics covered include

Day 1: Home Cinema Design Package
