I have worked in the AV Industry for over 25 years so it's hard to remember life before AV, but actually I've had quite a few jobs in my life; including paint spraying, roofing, printing and working on a market stall (which won't surprise some people!)
As soon as I started selling AV I knew I was hooked and the rest, as they say, is history.
Pulse was created the same year my son Oliver was born; 2002. Just like my son, quite a lot has changed since then and I'm incredibly proud of everything we have achieved over these last 16 years.
My vision was always to create a business that was built on the foundations of luxury and quality; both with the product offering, the showrooms in which we support our customers and, of course, the service we offer them. With hard work and belief in the dream, we have achieved all 3 of those things and I take great pleasure in watching the business flourish each year.
My role at Pulse has changed over the 16 years. I now work on the business rather than in it. My day is spent developing new business ideas and opportunities to to develop as a company. I’m constantly mentoring staff and spotting ways to build on the success of individuals within Pulse and of course our business.
On a personal level, my life at home is just as busy as it is at work; with 5 children between my girlfriend Lou and I, plus our little dog Minnie, life can be chaotic but it's always fun!
Those who know me know I am a lifelong Spurs fan and I go to all the home games with my son. If I'm not watching football, one of my favourite things is to go for a long dog walk, or to get out on my bike.
I've always loved film and my happy place is sitting in one of our incredible cinemas or the beautiful media room at Pulse with my family watching a movie together.
I have known Mike for a number of years and watched his business grow from strength to strength. All of this wouldn't happen without the visionary leadership of Mike himself. Plenty of business owners focus on the numbers and overlook the most important resource of all: the staff. Mike notices the potential in people, and helps them to develop this potential. His cinemas are works of art - this couldn't happen without a team that can be fully creative, attentive and responsive to customers. Go visit Pulse and step into a unique experience!
